Infection control is a term used to describe the procedures we do every day to keep our patients
safe.Everything we use with our patients is either disposable or sterilized. At Dental Associates, we utilize two ultrasonic cleaners and two
STAT IM pressurized, steam sterilizers to keep our instruments sterilized. They are tested every month to ensure that they are properly sterilizing our instruments. Special bags
with a sterilization color strip show us the instruments have effectively been sterilized. We use non-latex, disposable products wherever possible. Every patient is given safety
glasses for each procedure. SAFETY is the number one concern at Dental Associates. |

BONDED FILLINGS Attractive White Fillings for Front and Back Teeth
Think no one ever sees your back teeth? Think again! Just smile or laugh at a mirror. Our patients can have beautiful, mercury free, tooth-colored fillings placed
anywhere in their mouths, and these fillings will last longer than the old-fashioned black ones do. Plus, there is almost no cold sensitivity after our bonded fillings are placed in your teeth.
CLEANINGS Prevention is the Best Medicine
At Dental Associates, we stress preventive dentistry for the entire family. Be sure to regularly brush, floss, and have professional cleanings. When was the last time you had
a dental checkup? Please call us to schedule an appointment twice a year.
DENTURE SERVICES
Attractive and Comfortable Replacement Teeth If you are already missing teeth, we can help you get comfortable, good looking replacement teeth affordable and quickly.
IMPLANTS For a Single Tooth or an Entire Area
We work with a variety of select oral surgeons to provide exceptional implant services, whether you need to replace a single tooth or an entire area.
MISSING TEETH Comfortable, "Invisible" Replacements for Lost Teeth
For those who have lost some or all of their teeth, many innovative techniques to replace them esthetically and comfortably are available. These range from permanently
cemented bridges, to implants, to removable partial and full dentures which utilize a wide variety of invisible, comfortable, discreet attachments.
ORAL CANCER SCREENING We screen each of our adult patients for oral cancer every time we examine your
mouth. Oral cancer, if detected early, can be successfully cured!
Also, we encourage you to call and ask us about any unexplained lumps, sores that
won't heal, or white or red lesions you might find in your mouth. We will gladly evaluate any such lesions for our patients free of charge. PERIODONTICS (GUM TREATMENT) Surgery-Free Treatment of Gum Disease
Periodontitis, or gum disease, is the leading cause of tooth loss in the United States today. Soft Tissue Management (STM) relieves swollen, puffy and sometimes painful
bleeding gums and tightens loose teeth without painful and costly surgery. Should surgery be necessary, we can perform it painlessly and quickly with our dental laser -- see below. ROOT CANALS Saving an Infected Tooth The fact that the number of root canal procedures has more than doubled in recent
years shows that people are placing a greater value on saving their teeth. We can help you save your teeth painlessly and affordably.
SINGLE VISIT CROWNS All-Ceramic Crowns For your convenience and comfort, we can provide quality CEREC all-ceramic crowns in
our Woonsocket office using the latest CADICAM techniques.
SPORTS MOUTH GUARDS
Protect your child's teeth with a comfortable, custom mouth guard just like the pros wear! Injuries to teeth and the soft tissues of the mouth occur all too often -- and
unnecessarily -- in sports. Mouth guards are now required equipment in amateur football, lacrosse, and hockey. And if the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry has
its way, mouth guards will also be required for such sports as basketball, baseball, and softball, as well as for seemingly "safe" sports as gymnastics.
At Dental Associates we encourage the use of mouth guards. We can make comfortable, custom fitted guards for any family member engaged in any activity. Just ask us about your specific needs! TEETH WHITENING, VENEERS & BONDING Improve Your Appearance
Effective tooth whitening can be done comfortably in the privacy of the patient's home and bleaching materials and special trays. A wide range of other minimally invasive,
appearance-enhancing procedures is available, including tooth reshaping, bonding, veneering (covering the front of the tooth with an attractive porcelain shell), and
crowns without the telltale dark line at the gums. These procedures are safe, lasting and affordable.
We offer a free consultation with our doctors on your dental cosmetic choices. Find out
how you can look better and feel better, too! IN OFFICE TEETH WHITENING
All it takes is one visit. Imagine whiter teeth in only one visit to our office. Our office uses "Zoom 2" for state-of-the-art one visit whitening.

TOOTHPRINTS® DENTAL ID FOR CHILDREN We are proud to be able to offer parents another important means to protect their children!
One of the greatest fears of parents today is that their child will get lost or, worse yet, be abducted. A couple of dollars and a few minutes of chairtime is a small investment to make for the huge return of
being able to assist authorities in tracking a missing child or making a positive identification. The successful fight against tooth decay has left many children with no cavities and few dental records. Toothprints®
provides a unique record that can give parents greater peace of mind. Toothprints® bite impressions are a simple non-frightening way to record the dental
characteristics of children for use in identification. The technique was developed in the 1980's by a pediatric dentist who began using dental bite impressions as a way of
safeguarding his own child and other young patients. The child simply bites into a softened Toothprints® wafer to record the size and shape of the teeth, tooth position
within the arch, and the relationship of the upper and lower jaw. It is recommended that Toothprints® bite impressions be taken as early as age 2-3 to record the baby
teeth, and then again as the permanent teeth erupt at periodic intervals. LASER DENTISTRY Hate shots? Then learn about Laser Dentistry ... It's Dentistry in a Whole New Light!
You may have heard of the many benefits of laser dental treatment. Because Drs. Resnevic and Agin are interested in keeping up with the latest developments in the art and
science of dentistry, we seek out the latest technologies to make dental care easier, safer, and less scary for our patients. Our involvement with laser-assisted dentistry is
the latest step in our continuing quest for meaningful dental innovation.
Dr. Resnevic is a member of the
Academy of Laser Dentistry. He is certified in the safe and effective use of the Hoya ConBio Versawave erbium:YAG laser, the most
versatile and patient friendly dental laser available. What is a Laser? A laser is a high-technology device that generates a beam of concentrated light. This beam of light brings
energy into your mouth to help us remove areas of infection or tooth decay with great precision and accuracy. The laser beam sterilizes
the affected area and seals off blood vessels, which minimizes the chance of infection or bleeding and all but eliminates scarring! Laser dental patients are much more
comfortable both during and after treatment. That's because, in many instances, the need for anesthetic injections is reduced and in some instances eliminated, as well as
the associated side effects. And that means less time spent in the dental chair! Are Lasers new to dentistry?
Shortly after the invention of lasers in the early 1960s, lasers were used experimentally on the teeth and gums. Lasers have been used on a limited basis in hospital dentistry.
Recent technological developments have made it possible for lasers to be used effectively in the dental office on patients like you. In fact, lasers are now being used
by leading dentists worldwide. The advent of the "hard and soft tissue laser" (erbium:YAG) has opened new frontiers for dental patients. This laser is very different
from all other lasers and offers more options and more comfort for the patient due to its use of a water cooling spray. Are lasers dangerous?
In the hands of a skilled, specially trained dentist, lasers are quite safe. In fact, the primary safety measure necessary during laser treatment is proper protective eyewear.
Dental lasers are relatively low-powered, which is essential for treating the delicate tissues of the mouth. In addition, the controlled heat and light of the laser destroys
many bacteria and viruses found in the mouth. We routinely are able to use our laser on both teeth and gums with no anesthesia with comfortable results. What types of things can the laser do?
Our Versawave laser can remove tooth decay and old composite fillings, sterilize infected root canals, and perform bone shaping, apthous ulcer, canker sore, and cold
sore treatment, crown lengthening, apicoectomy, sulcular debridement, periodontal (gum) treatment, gingivectomy, biopsies, and other oral surgery.
Why don't you recommend your laser for all dental procedures? There are some limitations to laser assisted dentistry. The laser works by evaporating
water. Since there is no water in amalgam or other metallic or porcelain fillings, the laser cannot be used to remove such fillings if they already exist. The cut tooth
surface produced by the laser, while excellent for bonding composite fillings, cannot be used for placing amalgam restorations. The laser also cannot be used to prepare teeth for crowns.
What are the benefits of laser dentistry? There are many benefits of laser dentistry. They include:
- Eliminates or reduce the need for dental anesthesia injections for many common procedures
- Faster healing of gums and increased healing of bone
- Reduced risk of infection
- Relieves pain and shortens duration of cold sores
- Reduced sensitivity and post-operative pain
- Less scarring and virtually no bleeding in surgical sites
- Less time in the dental chair
- Can do several procedures in a single appointment thereby saving you time and money
- Better treatment results
Will my insurance pay for Laser Dental Services? Yes! The laser accomplishes the same treatment objectives as conventional dental
treatments, it just does them with less discomfort and faster healing. In fact, some of the surgical procedures it performs may be covered by your medical insurance, leaving
you with more dental insurance dollars available for your purely dental needs! Ask Linda, our Chepachet Office Manager, for details. How will I know if Laser Assisted Dentistry is for me?
Ask us! Upon thorough examination and resulting diagnosis, we can determine if laser assisted dentistry is right for you. We find that lasers are useful in many areas of dentistry. A final word...
Laser assisted dentistry is a compelling new technology that helps us treat you with a high degree of precision and accuracy. Helping you keep an attractive, healthy smile
for a lifetime is our primary goal. Laser treatment helps us help you reach that goal. If you have further questions or concerns about laser dental treatment, please ask us by contacting Dr. Resnevic at
